A Poem a Day…

Intro                                                                                                                   Written 12/02/18

I look at my screen,

And think, how mean.

Another week goes by,

and I give a big sign.

I struggle to write,

As things are tight.

But oh dear reader I promise to fight.

Cutting the Strings                                                                                        Written 31/01/18

You pull the strings on peoples hearts.

And secretly turn them into tarts.

You sit there on your ‘Golden Throne’

And make us, your devoted ones throw your stones.

You spread pain and misery wherever you go,

And yet so gently no one knows.

You hide behind a mask of lies,

And yet no one sees past your disguise.

But here I am cutting the strings.

Letting out a voice that sings.

You Will never know anothers heart.

And for that I pity you…all alone in the dark.

Drawing a Line in the Sand                                                                    Written 01/02/2018

Some days we walk hand in hand,

Across the wide expanse of sand.

With white cliffs behind and the sea in front,

Nothing seems to be wrong except this lump.

Oh and see the storm clouds gather…

And lightening flash and thunder shudder.

I drop your hand and walk away,

Although really I’d rather stay.

But that time has past and so have you…

And now I’d really rather do.

And so it is with heavy heart I walk away for a fresh start.

And maybe some day I’ll be back.

But oh my dear I very much,

doubt, that…

Conclusion                                                                                                       Written 12/02/18

So let us conclude this final draft,

And hit the post button for a laugh.

I’d make a promise to never again,

Disappear like a stain.

But I think we both know with heavy heart,

How likely that is from the start.

I promise to try and try again,

And honestly I hope this is not in vain.
